Matthew Wade scored 21 runs while Mark Wood three wickets in the first T20I
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 17th over. Mark Wood came up to bowl for England. On the other hand, Wade and Warner were batting for the home side. Australia were at 169 runs for five wickets in 16 overs. In the third delivery of the over, Wood bowled a bouncer.
Wade tried to hit it but managed an edge straight into his helmet. Then, the ball went straight up and Wood came running to catch it. But, it looked like the Australian wicketkeeper threw his arms out to block off the England pacer. There was a chance for Wade to lose his wicket for obstructing the field. But, there were no such appeals from the visitors as he survived. England skipper, Jos Buttler opened up about the incident. He said: "I wasn't sure what happened. They asked if I wanted to appeal, and I thought, 'We're here for a long time in Australia. I would be a risky one to go for so early in the trip."
Speaking of the match, Australia won the toss and asked England to bat first. They scored 208 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Both Jos Buttler (68 runs) and Alex Hales (84 runs) scored the fifties while opening the inning. In reply, Australia managed only 200 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Matthew Wade scored 21 runs off 15 balls, including one four and one six. But, Mark Wood impressed as he grabbed three wickets for 34 runs in four overs.
