On 27 December 2022, Sydney Thunder took on Brisbane Heat in Sydney in the ongoing Big Bash League. It was a vital match for the Sydney Thunder as they were looking for the first win of this season. On the other hand, Brisbane Heat were looking to improve their position at the table.

Sydney Thunder defeated Brisbane Heat by 10 wickets
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the third over of Sydney Thunder's innings. Xavier Bartlett was bowling while Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes were batting. On the first delivery of that over, they went for a quick single. A throw came at the no-striker end and it completely missed the stumps.
Michael Neser was there as a backup to stop that ball from going to the boundary. But, he used his leg to stop that ball. However, while doing that, he got hit and Neser was seen in some pain. However, no series injury happened as he looked absolutely fine. Speaking of the match, Brisbane Heat scored 121 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Colin Munro was the highest scorer with 43 runs off 47 balls, including three fours and one six.
Both Daniel Sams and Chris Green took two wickets each. In reply, both Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes put up an unbeaten 124* run partnership for their team in 11.4 overs. Thus, Sydney Thunder won the match by a huge margin of 10 wickets. Micheal Neser conceded 31 runs in three overs, at an economy of 10.33. Alex Hales scored 59 runs off 36 balls, including 10 fours. Along with him, Gilkes scored 56 runs off 34 balls, including six fours and three sixes.
