Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has been in news for many reasons during the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2023. Before the start of the tournament, he said that he treats Babar Azam as bowling to tailender.

“These kinds of matchups and player rivalries keep players on their toes. I personally like these sort of challenges because it keeps me focused. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, so for me, facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 will be the same," Amir said.

After this, in the game against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi, Amir was seen making an obscene gesture. The latter's acts were criticized by the fans. Meanwhile, in the recent game against Quetta Gladiators, the two-time World Championship winner was seen giving a mouthful to a teammate, Tayyab Tahir. Apparently, the latter didn't make enough effort to take a catch in the penultimate over of the game.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the Kings were asked to bat first after losing the toss. The team had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 78 runs. Efforts from Adam Rossington (69), Imad Wasim (30*), and Aamer Yamin (23*) took the team to 164/6. For the Purple Brigade, Gladiators, the likes of Naseem Shah, Aimal Khan took two wickets each. On the other hand, Mohammad Nawaz and Naveen-ul-Haq took one each.

In reply, the 2019 winners, Quetta lost five wickets for 63 runs. At this stage, injured Sarfaraz Ahmed (29) and Martin Guptill (86*) put together 105 runs to keep the team in the game. In the last over when the former got run out, the game was pretty much in the bag. In the end, they won by four wickets.
