It was just a bad day, when we came to bat there was sunlight but when New Zealand were batting there were clouds - Mohammad Yousuf

“When we came to bat there was sunlight but when New Zealand were batting there were clouds” - Mohammad Yousuf
In the press conference, reporters asked Mohammad Yusuf about the consistency issues of Pakistan. In response to that, he said: “ We need to improve their consistency level. Win or Loss can happen. But, we will work on improving our consistency level. We will sit with the management and players for making more improvements in all three departments.’
Then, he opened up about the conditions of the wicket on which they played the fourth T20I. He blamed that when they were batting sunlight was there. But, when the Kiwis batted, clouds were there which helped them to bat freely. “ This same wicket is being used for four or five matches continuously. When we came to bat there was sunlight but when New Zealand were batting there were clouds. Hence, balls were coming nicely on the bat. But, this is not an excuse. In the first inning, balls were coming slowly. New Zealand’s spinner took 2-3 wickets only. In my view, this was the only department where they defeated us today.”
He also dismissed the suggestion of experimenting with batting positions ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. “We have had this opening pair for the past 1.5-2 years. We never discussed changing the pair, nor should such a discussion happen. World Cup is nearing, it's difficult to take a chance now. Rizwan was the player of the match in the first game and Babar in the second. Changing the pair is not an option” Mohammad Yusuf concluded.
