The star Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj attracted the headlines for his heartfelt gesture as he gifted the bat and shoes to the local players in Barbados. The moment came when the Indian players were practicing in Barbados before heading to the venue of the first Test match at Windsor Park in Dominica.

Later on, the local players also took the autographs from the Indian players and selfies with them. The video of this moment started making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by the Indian Cricket Board from their official Twitter handle.

Both teams will cross swords in the first of the two-match Test series at Windsor Park in Dominica on Wednesday, the 12th of June next week. Following the conclusion of the Test series, India and West Indies will also play the three-match ODI series and the five-match T20I series against each other.

The Indian selectors had already announced the squad of Team India for the two-match Test series including the ODI and T20I series as well. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in the Tests and ODIs whereas the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be captaining Team India in the five-match T20I series.

Notably, the veteran Test specialist batter of India, Cheteshwar Pujara will be missing the Test series. His omission from the squad drew a lot of contrasting reactions on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Some of the fans and cricket experts for dropping the veteran batter like Pujara from the Test squad.

Meanwhile, the young uncapped cricketers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad had earned their maiden India call-up. There are high chances that Jaiswal could make it to India’s playing XI for the first of the two-match Test series at Windsor Park.
