The T20 World Cup 2022, which will be held in Australia later this year, is rapidly approaching. The mega event's group stages will begin on October 16th, followed by the super 12 stages on October 22nd. On the 23rd of October, India will open its campaign against archrival Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The new Indian cricket team jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup will be revealed soon. Yesterday, the BCCI announced the squad for the global event. And now, the new World Cup-specific kit is about to be revealed. MPL Sports, Team India's official kit sponsor, took to social media to share some glimpses of the new kit launch.
"The game is not really the same without you guys cheering us on!" read the caption of their post. Players can be seen in the video wearing team jackets and travel kits. Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya wore team jackets, which they most likely wore over their team jerseys. A lighter shade of the blue jersey is visible under their jackets.

In the meantime, the Indian squad for the mega event in Australia turned out to be more or less what was expected. However, some were disappointed by the absence of some of Indian cricket's biggest names. The notable exclusions are Mohammed Shami, Sanju Samson, and Shreyas Iyer, who have done well in the shortest format in recent times.
Former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin had posted a tweet expressing his disappointment with the team selection. He thought Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Shami should have been on the team. "Surprised at the omission of Shreyas Iyer and Md. Shami from the main squad. Shreyas Iyer instead of Deepak Hooda and Md. Shami in the place of Harshal Patel would be my choice," he tweeted.
