On September 24, the former India skipper MS Dhoni posted a message on his official Facebook account which informed the fans about an announcement. It took only a few minutes for the post to go viral. The fans were anticipating a lot of things such as retirement from the Indian T20 League, coming out of retirement, etc. However, it turns out that the 'special announcement' was an ad campaign.

Apparently, after 24 hours of posting the message, it turns out that he is promoting a biscuit brand from which a lot of readers might be familiar. The brand was launched in 2011 but over the years, it couldn't hold a grip on the Indian market. 11 years after this, the company has decided to re-launch. During the media interaction, the 2011 World Cup winner said that re-launching the brand might win India the upcoming 20-20 World Cup.

"This year we have one more World Cup. And if the biscuit brand can launch again, then India can win the Cup again.

"I'm bringing 2011 again because to create history, we need to recreate history."

It is important to note that the Ranchi-player was leading the 2011 ODI World Cup victorious team. The fans have been expressing their disappointment after what transpired. Also, not to forget, a lot of fans might feel that Dhoni is downgrading his own achievement. Talking about the 41-year-old's captaincy, India has won quite a few championships under him. They won the 2007 20-20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy.

The team has also two Asia Cups in 2010 and 2016 under the right-hander. It was under his captaincy that India became the number one Test team in late 2009. He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020 although he played his last game in 2019. He has continued playing in the Indian T20 League.
