Watch: MS Dhoni turns old man in hilarious new Indian T20 League promo

With the 15th season right around the corner, the Indian T20 League has launched the promo of the tournament. On March 6, the schedule of the upcoming season was announced by the tournament's governing council. Notably, the schedule of 58 league matches is announced as of now, with the venues for playoffs yet to be revealed. The opening game will be played between last year's finalists, Chennai and Kolkata.

The leagues will be played on three venues - Wankhede, D.Y. Patil, and Maharashtra Cricket Association stadiums. Meanwhile, former India skipper and long-time Chennai skipper MS Dhoni has featured as an old man in the new promo launched by the ITL on their official Twitter handle. In that video, Dhoni is watching an ITL game calmly with his family members. In the next scene, someone rings on the telephone.

A lady picks up the phone and asks weather the caller wants to speak to MS Dhoni. In reply, the wicketkeeper batter gestures to the lady to convey the message that he is dead. The lady lies to the caller while fakes her cries and puts down the phone receiver. At the end of the video, the former India skipper justifies that lies during the cash-rich league are normal.

Talking about this side, the team will enter the tournament as the defending champions. Last year, they beat Kolkata by 27 runs to clinch their fourth-ever ITL title. Notably, last season was played with eight teams playing each other in the double round-robin format. This year, two new teams, Lucknow and Gujarat will also compete in the tournament. Teams are divided into two groups of five each.
