Neeraj Chopra, who was injured and missed the Commonwealth Games, has been working hard to regain his fitness. The 24-year-old is still on the list of contenders for the Lausanne Diamond League but has yet to confirm his attendance at the event, which takes place in Switzerland at the end of this month.

On September 2, there will be another Diamond League in Brussels, but the men's javelin throw is not on the schedule. Chopra is currently ranked fourth in the Diamond League standings after finishing second at the Stockholm Diamond League.

He had missed the Commonwealth Games due to a groin injury sustained during the World Championships final in Eugene. Chopra and his coach, Dr Klaus Bartonietz, as well as physio Ishaan Marwaha, are currently stationed in Saarbrücken, Germany. He has begun light throwing practice. However, it will take a few more days to determine whether his body is ready for all-out throws during the competition.

Chopra had tweeted about his injury status when he withdrew from the Commonwealth Games. "I had been uncomfortable after the pull I felt in my groin during my fourth throw at the World Championships. On having it investigated medically yesterday by a group of doctors here in the US, a minor strain was discovered and I have been advised to undergo rehabilitation and give it rest for the next few weeks," Chopra had tweeted.
