In the first quarterfinal of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 between Brazil and Croatia, the former champions were favorites. However, the 2018 finalist gave a tough time to the former champions. In the end, the European side managed to win by 4-2 in the penalities as they converted all their chances. On the other hand, Neymar, who leveled Pele's record, couldn't help his advance his side to the semis.

After the loss, he was seen crying on the field. After all, the team was one of the favorites to win the World Cup, which they haven't done since 2002. Meanwhile, after the game, Neymar hinted at international retirement. He said that there is no guarantee that he will return to the national side. He added that losing the ongoing World Cup feels worse than the last World Cup.

"I am not closing any doors on the national team, but I am also not guaranteeing 100 percent that I will return."
