Watch: Pravin Tambe gets emotional as Kolkata team appreciate 'Kaun Pravin Tambe?'

The life of Pravin Tambe has been extraordinary as he has been through many ups and downs. He defied all odds as he made his debut at the age of 41. Not many get a chance to play at this age and most cricketers live a retired life by this time. A biopic starring Shreyas Talpade has been made to make his unreal story heard. 'Kaun Pravin Tambe?' is the title of the film.

Pravin Tambe is currently the spin-coach of the Kolkata team in the Indian T20 League 2022. He has been an important part of the ITL history as he is one of the few bowlers to take a hat-trick in the tournament. Notably, his hat-trick came against Kolkata. The team management had arranged for a screening of his biopic.

Post the screening, Tambe was left in tears as everyone appreciated his story. He had no words, all he could say was, "𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦."

Even the team captain, Shreyas Iyer, admitted that he was in tears. "We finally got to watch the movie. I was so desperate and excited to know the journey of a man who is nothing but an inspiration for all of us," he added.

Meanwhile, Kolkata got off to a winning start in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League, defeating reigning champions Chennai in the first match of the season. However, after putting up a brave fight against Bangalore in their second game, Kolkata lost by three wickets in a nail-biting thriller. They defined their character in the game against Bangalore as they gave a good fight to defend a low total.
