On 6 October 2022, team India kicked off their three-match ODI series at home against South Africa. However, all 20-20 World Cup-bound players were not available after the completion of the three-match T20I series. Hence, it was a great opportunity for some young and new players to showcase their talent at the international level.
But, the result did not go in favour of the Men in Blue. Eventually, India lost the match by nine runs. Meanwhile, during the chase, Tabraiz Shamsi and Quinton de Kock got involved in an awkward situation regarding a DRS call. The video went viral as the Protea wicketkeeper ignored the spinner completely.

Quinton de Kock was not convinced at all with the taken DRS call by Tabraiz Shamsi and Temba Bavuma
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 30th over. For the Proteas, Tabraiz Shamsi was bowling. On the other hand, Shardul Thakur and Sanju Samson were batting for India. India were at 145 runs for five wickets at that stage. In the last delivery of that over, Shardul missed the ball and it went to hit his pads. Shamsi appealed but the umpire did not respond at all.
There, Shamsi was seen asking de Kock for a DRS call. But, Quinton de Kock ignored him completely as he walked up to the other end. But, skipper Temba Bavuma showed faith in his bowler and went for that call. However, it came out in favour of India as Shardul Thakur survived. Fans found it funny how de Kock ignored his skipper and the spinner as the video went viral.
Speaking of the match, Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and he asked South Africa to bat first. Due to rain, the match got scheduled for a 40-over game. South Africa scored 249 runs for four wickets in 40 overs. In reply, India managed only 240 runs for eight wickets in 40 overs. Hence, South Africa won the series opener by nine runs.
