Rishabh Pant scored a stunning century against England in the rescheduled fifth Test match at Edgbaston. This knock came at a time when India were in trouble after losing early wickets for a small total. He delivered a fearless knock with little room for mistake.

The Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was spotted jumping in the air to celebrate the 24-year-old's century in the 58th over. Pant hit a hook shot on a short ball to run two runs and complete his century. The entire Indian dressing room applauded, and Dravid, who typically remains calm in these situations, celebrated enthusiastically. A video of the same has gone viral on the internet.

"Rishabh Pant, you beauty! Is there a more exciting Test cricketer in the modern game?!" read the caption of the video posted by the official broadcasters, Sony Sports Network.

The wicketkeeper-batter went on to score 146 runs in just 111 deliveries. He played with the right intent and showed no mercy on the bowlers. In his innings, he scored 20 boundaries and four sixes. Previously, India had lost five wickets for a total of 98 runs. This put Ravindra Jadeja and Pant in the thick of the action.

The two accounted for a great partnership, which allowed the Indian team to get back in the match. While Pant was targeting the bowlers, Jadeja made the correct decision to stay rigid at the crease. On day one, the latter was not out for 83 runs off 163 balls. The two scored 222 runs for the sixth wicket partnership. This is the highest score for the sixth wicket for India against England.

The Jasprit Bumrah-led side managed 338 runs and lost seven wickets at the end of the first day. On the second day, Jadeja and Mohammad Shami will resume the proceedings. They'd like to have some runs on the board quickly before England gets any more wickets. They would look to post a good total
