The Indian team has landed in Johannesburg to play the three-match Test series against Proteas starting December 26. The team has already completed a three-day quarantine in Mumbai before flying for this tour. The team will go to Centurion from Johannesburg to play the first Test.

On the first day of the practice, the Indian team had a fun session where they played ‘footvolley’ and did some light workout. Indian captain Virat Kohli, along with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, coach Rahul Dravid and all the other squad members, took part in this practice session.

BCCI’s official Twitter handle shared a small video featuring the entire team and support staff. Soham Desai, India’s Strength, and Conditioning Coach explained the reason for selecting ‘footvolley’ to start the skill session. He also mentioned that the team likes to play this sport in order to gel together and have fun.

The video was shared along with the caption: "How did #TeamIndia recharge their batteries ahead of their first training session in Jo'Burg?. On your marks, get set & Footvolley!. #SAvIND."

The video also hinted that the captaincy saga that is going on in the Indian cricket scenario does not affect the Test squad. The session was an excellent way for the team members to relax.

In the video, all the players can be seen laughing and enjoying themselves with each other. Head coach Dravid can also be seen taking part in the sport and showing his competitive side.

The Indian team is yet to win a Test series in South Africa, and this is the best chance to improve the records in the rainbow nation. Johannesburg will host the second Test between India and South Africa from January 3 to 7. The third Test is scheduled to be played in Cape Town from January 11 to 15.

The Indian team will also play three ODIs on this tour. The ODI squad has not been announced yet.
