The first clash of the Super Four round between Sri Lanka ad Bangladesh went exactly the way the fans would have wanted. The match was filled with action and drama unlike their previous game in the Group stages. During the game, the emotions between the players flared as well. The incident happened in the 17th over of the Sri Lanka innings with the chasing 176 runs to win.
Apparently, Danushka Gunathilaka from Sri Lanka hit a reverse sweep against Rashid Khan on the first ball of the over. The latter wasn't having a great day with the ball as he was hit for 28 runs in his first three overs. Khan came into bowl his last over of the game and was greeted with a boundary. This didn't go down well with the leggie.
After this, both players had a verbal spat and were repeatedly stopped by Bhanuka Rajapaksa. A Twitter user recorded this video and uploaded it on the micro-blogging website.

On the fourth ball of the over, Khan got the better of the left-hander. The latter tried to play the same shot but missed the ball and lost the stumps behind him. Talking about the game, the Lankan Lions asked Afghanistan to bat first on the Sharjah surface. The Mohammad Bai-led Afghans had a great start as Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 84 off 45 balls made it look like the team will easily go past the 190-run mark. However, improved death bowling from the Lankan helped them restrict their opposition to 175/6.
In reply, Dasun Shanaka's men were always in the chase as their batters kept the scoreboard ticking and helped the team chase down the target after losing six wickets and having two balls to spare. For them, Pathum Nissanka (35), Kusal Mendis (36), Danushka Gunathilaka (33), and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (31) helped the team to win the reverse fixture. In the previous game between the two teams, Afghanistan had thrashed Sri Lanka by a huge margin.
