Rinku Singh gave a flashback of his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 heroics during a match between Meerut Mavericks and Kashi Rudras in the inaugural edition of the Uttar Pradesh T20 (UP T20) League. The left-hander rose to prominence with his exploits for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 16th edition of IPL and even earned a maiden international call-up for Team India in the recently concluded T20I series against Ireland.

Rinku was given the 'finisher' tag when he did the unthinkable during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT), blasting Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes in the last over to seal an incredible win for KKR. The 25-year-old's finishing prowess was once again on display on Thursday, August 31 in Kanpur as he pulled off a heist by smashing three back-to-back sixes in the Super Over to take Meerut home with two balls to spare.

With both teams scoring 181 runs in the allotted 20 overs, the match was tied and entered the super-over phase. Batting first in the six-ball contest, Rudras scored 16 for the loss of one wicket with two sixes and a four. Needing 17 to win, Rinku walked out to the middle and was up against left-arm spinner Shiva Singh. The KKR player star gave the bowler some relief by playing a dot ball on the first ball but what followed surely gave the entire Rudras team a horrible night.

Rinku did the job with 6,6,6

Rinku stayed calm and composed when the whole Meerut dug out was feeling the pressure. Shiva bowled the second ball full and wide but Rinku went forward and unleashed a spectacular drive to long off for a maximum. His next delivery was a juicy full-toss, which Rinku greeted by hitting it into the deep mid-wicket stands. With 4 needed off 3 balls, Shiva went for a wide delivery and Rinku smashed it over the cover boundary to seal a stunning victory for Meerut.

The video has gone viral on social media and fans got to remember his similar onslaught against GT in the 2023 IPL. When KKR needed 29 runs at the start of the final over, Rinku smashed left-arm pacer Dayal for 5 successive sixes. The rising sensation of Indian cricket amassed 474 runs in 14 matches last season, with an impressive average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53.
