Rinku Singh played an excellent knock against Rajasthan to help Kolkata get across the line and break their five-match losing streak on Monday. He scored a quickfire 42 runs in 23 balls and stitched an important partnership along with Nitish Rana. The duo stayed not-out and added 66 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership.
Post the match, Singh had a chat with his teammate Rana. The video was put up by the Indian T20 League's official Twitter handle with the caption, "The power-packed duo of @NitishRana_27 and @rinkusingh235 sum up @KKRiders' Wankhede victory."
Rinku Singh explained why he wrote '50' on his palm before the match. He stated that he was confident of scoring runs and winning the man of the match award, which is why he wrote 50 on his hand. "I was feeling like I would score runs today, be the man of the match and I myself wrote 50 with my own hand... and made heart," he said.

Coming back to the match, Rajasthan set up a moderate target of 153 runs in the first innings. Except for Sanju Samson (54 runs in 49 balls) and Shimron Hetmyer (27 runs in 13 balls), none of the other batters could make much of an impact for Rajasthan. While chasing, the men in purple did not have the best start as they lost both their openers early on. After that, it was Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh who guided the team to a seven-wicket victory.
Meanwhile, the Shreyas Iyer-led side currently stands seventh in the points table with four wins in 10 games. They find themselves in a tight spot where they need to win nearly all their games to stand a chance to qualify for the playoffs. They play their next game against Lucknow on the 7th of May.
