The star Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh turned the history pages and stunned everyone with his remarkable batting display in the recently-concluded match against Gujarat Titans. He smashed five consecutive sixes in the last over to achieve a thrilling win by three wickets; these electrifying sixes came from Rinku’s bat in the last over when Knight Riders needed 29 overs from the last over.
Yash Dayal came to bowl the last over for Titans, but Rinku Singh had some other plans on the day and came with all guns blazing to snatch a historic win for Knight Riders. Speaking of the entire action of the match; Gujarat Titans came to bat first after winning the toss and posted a big total of 204 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Star opener and number three batter Sai Sudarshan played the vital knocks of 39 and 53 runs respectively for the Titans.
Other than these two, the senior all-rounder Vijay Shankar smashed a swashbuckling knock of 63 runs off just 24 balls with four boundaries and five sixes to his name. Senior KKR spinner Sunil Narine scalped three wickets for his team alongside one wicket claimed by Suyash Sharma.
While chasing the target, Kolkata Knight Riders were looking in a strong position when Venkatesh Iyer was batting on 83 runs off just 40 balls with eight boundaries and five sixes on his credit. But Gujarat’s stand-in skipper and star spinner Rashid Khan turned things in GT’s favour by scalping a hat-trick in the 17th over of the KKR innings.
Although Rinku Singh came out of nowhere for KKR and smashed five consecutive sixes in the last over off Yash Dayal when the visitors needed 29 runs off the last six balls to win the match.
