India is currently taking on Leicestershire in a four-day warmup game ahead of the rescheduled Test match against England. Since it is a practice game, India has let some of its players play for the county club. Rishabh Pant is one of the few Indian players who is playing for Leicestershire, and he has been at the top of his game.

He scored 76 quick runs in 87 balls in his team's batting innings. He hit 14 fours and a six in his stay at the crease. The 24-year-old completed his half-century in the perfect style as he hit a six off Umesh Yadav's bowling. He used the pace of the bowler and scooped the ball swiftly for a six in the fine-leg region. A video of the same has gone viral over the internet.

As for the match, most of the Indian batters failed to get the best results in their batting innings. While Virat Kohli looked in good touch, he could only manage 33 runs in the first innings. Srikar Bharat was the pick of the batters with his score of 70 runs in 111 balls. The Indian team managed 246/8 runs on the board before declaring the innings.

In response, Rishabh Pant's magnificent effort helped Leicestershire reach 244 runs in the innings, giving India a two-run lead. India started their second innings on a positive note, with Shubman Gill and Srikar Bharat giving them a solid start. Before Gill (38) was dismissed, the two had scored 63 runs in a quick partnership. India ended day two with a score of 80/1 and a lead of 82 runs.

KS Bharat and Hanuma Vihari will try to capitalize on their innings on day three. The postponed fifth match will take place on July 1st at Birmingham's Edgbaston Stadium. Notably, the series' final match was postponed during India's tour of England last year because of a Covid outbreak in the visitor's camp. India now hold a 2-1 lead in the series.
