Watch: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal tear up as the former bids farewell to Tennis

The legendary Tennis player Roger Federer played his last professional game in Tennis in the Laver Cup 2022. He paired up with his long-time friend and on-court rival Rafael Nadal to play the double's game for Team Europe. The duo got emotional during the game as they shared many great moments on the court.

In a video that has gone viral all over the internet, Nadal and Federer can be seen getting emotional during the game. Understandably so, the two have been very competitive at the top level of professional Tennis. "Fedal", as the pair is known, has played many thrillers throughout their careers, including the epic 2008 Wimbledon final.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer engaged in a rivalry unmatched by anyone else. Federer has faced the Spaniard 40 times on the ATP tour, making their rivalry one of the most famous in sports history. Off the court, however, they get along well and are close friends.

As for the match, after they easily won the first set, it was anticipated that it would be Federer's perfect farewell performance. However, Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World upset the party by controlling their nerves in crucial situations and winning the match 4-6, 7-6(2), 11-9.

"It's been wonderful. And of course playing with Rafa, on the same team, having all the guys here and all the legends, Rocket , Stefan Edberg - thank you. It is amazing, it really is . I didn't want it to feel lonely out there. It felt lonely for a second when they told me to come out one more time, it didn't feel great. But to say goodbye in a team, I always felt I was a team player at heart," Federer said during his emotional farewell speech on Saturday.

“Singles doesn't really do that a whole lot but I've had a team that travelled with me around the world. It's been amazing with them. Thanks to everybody who made it work for so many years. Of course being on a team with Andy , Thomas , Novak , Matteo , Cam , Stefanos , Rafa and Casper - and also the other team - you guys are unbelievable," he added.
