On 23 October 2022, India took on arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne in the 20-20 World Cup. After losing against the Men in Green last year in the World Cup, India were looking to do well this time around. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was looking ahead to the clash as this tournament is going to be his first major tournament as skipper of India.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and choose to bowl first against Pakistan
Speaking about the incident, all players from both teams stood to sing their respective national anthems. But, as the national anthem of India got finished, skipper Rohit Sharma was seen as emotional. Tears were there in his eyes as he looked to hide them from fans. Fans also loved such raw emotions from the captain as the video went viral.
Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and he elected to bowl first. But, Pakistan dealt a major blow. Their skipper, Babar Azam went for a golden duck as he got trapped in an LBW dismissal against Arshdeep Singh. In the first six overs, Pakistan scored 32 runs for two wickets.
However, before the match, fans were worried about Melbourne's weather. Even, both captains were unsure about that. While speaking during the press conference, Rohit Sharma said: “You don’t really know what is going to happen tomorrow. The things that are in our control, we’ll try and control that, which is we’ll have a good training session today, go back, relax and get ready for tomorrow. As simple as that. We need to come here thinking that it’s a 40-over game. We will be ready for that.”
