-India is currently playing Sri Lanka in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) of their series. Having already won the first two matches, the Men in Blue will be looking to whitewash the visitors. The match is currently underway at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

After winning the toss, India elected to bat first on a reasonably good wicket. The openers got the team off to a quick start, with Rohit Sharma pushing the accelerator and Shubman Gill playing a steady innings. The pair added a 95-run partnership for the opening wicket.

The skipper hit three sixes in his stay at the crease, out of which two came on consecutive deliveries in the 10th over. He hit two mesmerizing shots against Kasun Rajitha that showed the pure class of the batter.

On the fourth delivery of the over, he pulled a short ball that went over the deep mid-wicket region for a six. On the very next delivery, he played an even more elegant shot straight over the bowler's head for a six in the long-off region. Even the commentator Murali Karthik was left speechless by his graceful stroke. "How do you describe that apart from saying, 'shot!'?" he said.

Chamika Karunaratne eventually dismissed the 35-year-old in the 16th over for a team score of 95. He contributed 42 runs in 49 balls, with two boundaries and three sixes, to the team's total. The opening batter got out playing his most famous shot, the pull shot.

His opening partner Gill, on the other hand, went on to complete his half-century in the match. He was joined by former Indian captain Virat Kohli, and the two put on another solid performance to put India in control of the match.
