Indian Captain Rohit Sharma, who will be returning to the Indian team in the T20I series against West Indies, was left in shock as he learned about Pragyan Ojha joining commentary. During a presser ahead of the T20I series, Rohit was informed about Ojha's comments on him and Shikhar Dhawan.

"Your old friend Pragyan Ojha has commented that the way Tendulkar and Ganguly's professional relationship turned into a friendship by opening the innings together, Shikhar and you have part of a friendship too. Tell us something about it?," reporter Vimal Kumar asked the Indian captain.

When questioned about Ojha's remark regarding Dhawan, Rohit was surprised, not by what his former Indian teammate said, but by the fact that he has become a broadcaster. "Pragyan? Pragyan aaj kal commentary karne laga hai kya? Sahi hai, chalo achhi baat hai (Pragyan? Has he started doing commentary? Well, alright, that's good)," Rohit hilariously replied.

The 35-year-old then discussed the chances of Dhawan cracking India's 50-over World Cup squad next year. "See, whenever we play, whoever is the partner, we all try – not just I and Shikhar – that the understanding remains good, and that transforms into a good friendship off the field.

"On the field, obviously, all the players come together to play but off the field also, it is important that all the players stay together, have fun, pull each other’s legs and that is what lifts the environment of the team. So that is also one of our areas of focus as to how we keep the atmosphere light and enjoy because you won't get this opportunity enough," he said.

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha recently made a fascinating statement regarding Shikhar Dhawan, suggesting that despite intense competition, he sees the left-handed batsman making India's 50-over World Cup team. Ojha stated that skipper Rohit wants Dhawan to be a part of India's ODI World Cup squad and that one of India's most successful opening pairs of all time is likely to reunite for the final time in ICC competitions.
