WATCH: Rohit Sharma visits home of Sri Lankan cricket's biggest fan

Rohit Sharma is currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. In his free time, the Indian captain visited the home of a Sri Lankan fan which hosted many fans of the island nation. The gesture of Sharma went viral on the internet it is rare for a player to visit an opposite-team fan. The gesture of Rohit won the hearts of many fans on social media. 

The video of the 36-year-old visiting the fans of Sri Lanka went viral on the internet. The fans started sharing the video and praised the Indian opener for his move. As India did not have a game for two days, the Indian players decided to spend their time off in different ways. Some of the players hit nets and practiced hard ahead of the big match against Pakistan on September 10.

Rohit Sharma returns back to form in Asia Cup 2023

The likes of Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and others practiced during their leisure period. On the other hand, Shubman Gill celebrated his birthday earlier today. The Indian captain made the best use of his free time, as he visited the fans of the Sri Lankan team. The fans lauded the Indian captain with kind words and wished him success for the remainder of the tournament in Sri Lanka. 

Rohit Sharma seems to have returned back to form. In the previous game against Nepal, the Indian batter scored an unbeaten 74*(59) that helped the Indian team to beat Nepal and qualify for the Super 4 stage of the tournament. The fans hope that the form of Sharma remains intact so that it will be helpful for the Indian team against bigger opponents on a bigger stage. 

India is set to play Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023. If India manages to emerge as one of the top 2 teams in the points table, then they can have a go at the title in the final of the tournament.
