There was a time in internatioanal cricket when Sachin Tendulkar ruled World Cricket with his batting. Even the likes of Sir Donald Bradman who had the batting average of 99.96, was one of his biggest fans. During his playing days, he made a lot of records which are very difficult to be broken by one player. Also, not to forget, his straight, cover, and backfoot drives were a treat to watch.

Around nine years after his retirement, the fans once again witness a backfoot drive in Indore. Currently, he is leading India Legends in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022. In the game against New Zealand Legends, the 2011 World Cup winner treated the spectators of Indore with a backoot punch. The video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the game, India was asked to bat first by New Zealand. They had a great start as they scored 49/1 after 5.5 overs. The team had lots the wicket of Naman Ojha (18). Tendulkar and Sures Raina were at the crease. However, before they could create an impact for their team, the game was interrupted by persistent rains which eventually led to the abandonment of match number 12 of the tournament.

Both teams shared one point each. The defending champions (India) had a great start to the season as they beat South Africa. However, their last two games against the West Indies and New Zealand have been abandoned due to rain. This has most certainly affected other momentum in the tournament. The Sachin Tendulkar-led side will play their next game against England Legends on Thursday 22. The team would be hoping for a full game.
