During his playing days, Sachin Tendulkar used to be one of the most dynamic batters in world cricket. In the era of countless dangerous bowlers, he asserted his authority in world cricket. The right-hander has 100 centuries to his name. Out of them, 49 came in ODIs and the rest came in Tests. Even after retiring from the international game in 2013, he is still the highest-century maker of all time.
Not to forget, he has the all-time highest run-getter in the ODIs and Test formats. Meanwhile, he is currently leading the India Legends in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022. In the first game of the tournament, India played against South Africa. The 2011 World Cup winner opened the innings for the Blue Brigade. In the fourth over of the game, he played a lofted on-drive to earn a boundary.
The shot reminded the fans of his prime in international cricket. The video of the lofted on-drive has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the game, the defending champions India have started their tournament on a winning note. Batting first, they amassed 217/4, thanks to Stuart Binny's half-century and cameos from Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan, In reply, the Proteas could only reach 156/9, losing the game by 61 runs. Rahul Sharma, who recently retired from all forms of the game, took three wickets. India will play next against the West Indies on September 14.
The team would be looking to defend the title they won last year by beating Sri Lanka in the final. Talking about the tournament, it is played to create awareness among the people about road safety. The first edition was played in two parts in 2020 and 2021. The reason for that was the COVID-19 pandemic that set in early 2020. This time around, the tournament is expected to be completed smoothly with the fear of the pandemic pretty much vanished.
