Team India will look to begin their New Zealand tour with the T20I series on 18 November 2022. In the first match of the series, they will take on the Kiwis in Wellington. However, both these teams had a disappointing end to their campaign in the 20-20 World Cup. India lost to England while the Kiwis lost to Pakistan in their respective semi-finals.

Meanwhile, big-name players like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have taken a rest for this series. So, Hardik Pandya will lead the team. New faces like Dhubman Gill have been added to the squad for this tour. Sanju Samson will be another player who will look to do well on this tour. Noe, a video has gone viral where Sanju Samson was seen hitting ‘No-look’ sixes at ease in practice sessions.

Here is the shared video:

Indian selectors chose Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik over Sanju Samson for the 20-20 World Cup 2022

Speaking of the video, all Indian players were seen having an intense practice session ahead of the T20I series opener. Sanju Samson was no exception also. He was seen raining ‘No-look’ sixes ahead of the first match. It seemed like the wicketkeeper batter is fully ready to score runs on this tour. Before the 20-20 World Cup 2022, several reports were that the Indian selectors might consider Samson over Rishabh Pant.

But, they chose Pant and Dinesh Karthik over Samson for the tournament. So, on this tour, he will look to do well with both the bat and gloves to ensure his place in the team until the next 20-20 World Cup. In this series, Rahul Dravid also took a rest. So, in his absence, VVS Laxman will look to guide the Men in Blue to victory.

About Pandya’s captaincy, he said: “He is a fabulous leader. We have seen what he has done with Gujarat Titans in the Indian T20 League. Taking leadership in the first year of the franchise in the tournament, and winning the league is not a mean achievement. I have spent a lot of time with him since the Ireland series, he is just not only tactically sound, but he is very calm on the field and that is something that is very important at the highest level. He is very approachable & players captain.”
