Sanju Samson was looked as a blue-eyed boy of Indian Cricket when he burst on to the scene and played for Rajasthan side in the Indian T20 League. He has been leading the franchise from the 2021 Indian T20 League edition and also led them to the final in 2022.

He has been associated with Rajasthan since 2013 and more recently was snubbed by the selectors and team management from the Indian 20-20 World Cup squad. This evoked heavy reactions from the fans on social media. He has had a great Indian T20 League in 2022 where he scored 458 runs from 17 games at a strike rate of 146.79 and put up great performances in the 5 match T20I series against the West Indies. However, despite that, he was not given an opportunity to represent India in the marquee event.

To cover up for the snub, he was made the skipper of the India A side and the fans at the Chepauk are now showing all the love for Sanju Samson. Samson received a grand reception from them which gave the feeling that the selectors had made a mistake. The video of the same has gone viral on social media and this proves the admiration that the fans have for him. This happened today at the first One Day match against New Zealand.

Here is the video

Sanju Samson took the snub very sportingly and has reacted in a very calm manner.

"It really does get challenging. Finding a place in the Indian team is really challenging. There is a lot of competition around, even within players who are in the team now. When these things happen, it is important to focus on myself. I am happy with the way I am performing. I want to improve...," Samson was quoted s saying by The Week.

"They (India A games) are really important. There is not much difference between an A game and international game. The competition is almost the same. So, it is important to make use of the opportunities," Samson added.
