The spirit of the game was once again on the display as Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan shared a great moment on the field in PSL 2022. The Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars emerged victorious in the final of the 7th season of the Pakistan Super League. They beat Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans by 42 runs.
In the end, Afridi was seen lifting Rizwan up as he came in to hug the victorious captain. Rizwan congratulated the 21-year old for his achievement with a smile, proving that winning and losing are a part of the game.

Coming to the match, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez were the stars of the game. Afridi trapped three batters with the ball and gave away just 30 runs in the four overs. Hafeez, on the other hand, displayed an all-rounder performance. He scored 69 runs in 46 balls and picked up two wickets with the ball.
Batting first, Qalandars lost three wickets inside the powerplay as Asif Ali struck two wickets early on. It was Harry Brooks along with Mohammad Hafeez that built a partnership for the 5th wicket. Brooks' 22 balls 41 helped Qalandars reach 180 in the end. David Weise also played a whirlwind knock.
In return, Sultans were never in the game. Only one of their batters, Khusdil Shah scored 30 plus runs. The wickets kept falling for the team and the result was clear. Sultans were all-out for just 138 runs, and Lahore Qalandars won their first-ever championship by 42 runs. Mohammad Hafeez was awarded the man of the match for his all-rounder performance, while Mohammad Rizwan won the Player of the Series.
