India Maharajas and Asia Lions locked horns in the tournament opener of the Legends League Cricket Masters. Former legendary Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi was the captain of Asia Lions alongside Gautam Gambhir leading the India Maharajas. The Lions managed to win the match by a margin of nine runs against the Maharajas.

Afridi looked very happy with the team’s win and he celebrated in his special style; the 43-year-old hugged former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh; subsequently, he went on to hug a lady umpire out of confusion but just after realizing this, Afridi pulled himself back and ended up shaking hand with the umpire.

The video of this moment started making rounds on social media just a few moments after a Twitter user shared it on the micro-blogging site.

Here’s the video:

Speaking of the action of the first match between Asia Lions and India Maharajas, the former managed to post a total of 165 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Former legendary Pakistan batter and skipper, Misabh ul Haq played a blistering knock of 73 runs off just 50 balls. Other than him, the skipper Afridi also had a fiery start but couldn’t convert that into a big knock.

Stuart Binny and Parvinder Awana scalped two wickets each in favor of India Maharajas. While chasing the target, the skipper and opener, Gautam Gambhir played a knock of 54 runs off 39 balls for Maharajas. Other than him, Murali Vijay also contributed with an individual score of 25 runs off 19 balls. Although the former blistering Indian all-rounders, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan failed to live up to the expectations; notably, they haven’t been so much impressive since their participation in the International League T20.

Eventually, Misbah won the ‘player of the match award for his match-defining performance in favor of the Asia Lions.
