Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan played a crucial role in the hosts’ victory against England in the first of the three-match T20I series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. He scalped one wicket with the ball and also scored unbeaten 34 runs with the wood in the second innings to help Bangladesh win the match against England by six wickets.

Apart from the action on the field, Shakib also made it to the headlines of social media for a controversial act during a promotional commercial event after the match against England. The incident when the fans gathered around him at the time when he was heading to his car from the event.

A fan allegedly tried to snatch Shakib’s cap; this act didn’t really go down well with the latter and he took no time in beating the fan with the cap. The video of this moment is making rounds on social media.

Speaking of the first T20I between Bangladesh and England, the hosts’ skipper won the toss and asked England to bat first. The opening pair of Phil Salt and Jos Buttler stitched a strong partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket. Buttler played a knock of 67 runs off 42 balls with four boundaries and four sixes to his name. Other than him, it was his opening partner Phil Salt who played a knock of 38 runs with four boundaries and a six to his name.

On the back of these knocks, England posted a total of 156 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Hasan Mahmud scalped two wickets by conceding 26 runs in his spell of four overs for Bangladesh.

While chasing the target, Bangladesh comfortably chased down the target of 157 runs in 18 overs by scoring 158 runs for the loss of four wickets. Najmul Hasan Shanto played a half-century knock of 51 runs off just ­30 balls with eight boundaries. Eventually, Bangladesh won the match by six wickets to take the lead of  1-0 in the three-match series.
