On 10 January 2023, Rangpur Riders took on Fortune Barishal in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). It was the seventh match of the ongoing tournament that took place in Mirpur. Rangpur Riders were looking to win their second game while Fortune Barishal were looking to win their first game of this season.
However, Fortune Barishal managed to win the clash by six wickets. But, Shakib Al Hasan got involved in another heated argument with the umpires during the match. Fans found the event very interesting and that video has now gone viral on social media platforms.

Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket for 19 runs in four overs in the match
Speaking of the incident, it happened when Barishal opener Anamul Haque Bijoy was reportedly not allowed to take the strike. Then, Shakib went up to the umpires and got involved in an animated discussion. However, it was not the first time that Shakib Al Hasan got involved in a confrontation.
Recently, he also made headlines when Shakib said that it would not take much time for him to fix the overall running procedure of the Bangladesh Premier League. During a press conference, he said: "If they made me the BPL CEO, it would take me one or two months to correct everything. You have seen the movie, Nayak, right? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day."
Speaking of the match, Fortune Barishal won the toss and asked Rangpur Riders to bat first. While batting first, they scored 158 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Shoaib Malik scored 54* runs off 36 balls, including five fours and two sixes. For Rangpur Riders, both Chaturanga de Silva and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets each. In reply, Fortune Barishal chased down the target in 19.2 overs with six wickets in the bag. With the ball, Sikandar Raza took two wickets for 14 runs in two overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the player of the match award for his all-around abilities.
