Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar was one of the most terrorizing pacers in world cricket from 1997 to 2011. During his 14-year-old career, he became the all-time fastest bowler in the history of the game. In the 2003 World Cup, the right-arm bowler bowled at 161 kmph per hour in the game against England. However, the Green Brigade lost the game by a huge margin.

Meanwhile, the former Kolkata Knight Riders player shared a video on Instagram. In the video, an elderly man, as old as 100 years old, imitated the legendary bowler. After watching the video, it was pretty clear that the elderly man pretty much imitated Akhtar.

No bowler has broken Shoaib Akhtar's record

Meanwhile, no bowler has been able to break Akhtar's record of 161 kmph. In 2015, Mitchell Starc came close as he bowled at 160.9 to former New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor in a Test match in Perth. Notably, that was the last international game of Mitchel Johnson who retired from the international games after the match.

Meanwhile, India's Umran Malik, New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson, and England's Mark Wood are the contenders who can break the record in the future. Malik has already reached 157 kmph in IPL and international cricket. On the other had Wood and Ferguson also have the capability to breach the landmark.

Meanwhile, recently, Akhtar offered to help Malik with the latter's fast bowling. The former Pakistani international said โ€œHe is very good. He is very strong and has a powerful run-up. He has nice arm speed. You saw when he struck Shanaka, it was ruthless bowling. So Umran, bowl courageously and learn the art of bowling quickly. Learn the technical aspect. Never reduce your aggression, even if you are getting beaten a lot, then also donโ€™t reduce your aggression. Always bowl fast, and never leave it. When you go to the field, the ownership of the ground has to be yours. Donโ€™t break and train a lot.โ€

โ€œYou are playing for a great country. People care a lot and respect a lot. So never let down their feelings and bowl with a big heart.โ€
