On 27 October 2022, Pakistan took on Zimbabwe in Perth in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. However, the Men in Green kicked off the tournament in a disappointing manner as they lost to team India on 23 October in Melbourne. The Men in Blue snatched a win from the jaws of defeat as India won the match by four wickets. So, fans were expecting a better show from Babar Azam and his men.
But, they shocked everyone as Zimbabwe defeated them by one run. After the loss, all fans and players were dejected as they will find it tough to get qualified for the semi-finals now. Now, a video went viral where Wasim Akram was seen talking after that defeat. While talking about the players, the former pacer came up with a demand of having Shoaib Malik on the team. But, the way he used a reference, Shoaib Malik came up with an epic reaction to that.

Speaking of the video, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Malik were seen discussing the match in a show named “Pavillion” in “A Sports.” There, the former Pakistani pacer blamed the middle-order batters for the dismal performance of Pakistan so far in the mega tournament. Then, he pointed to Shoaib Malik.
He said: “Ab main agar captain hota, mera end goal kya hai as a skipper how to win the World Cup! Agar mujhe uske lie Waqt pe gadhe ko bhi baap banana pade toh main bana lunga.” Then, he continued by saying: “Agar mujhe Shoaib Malik chaihe middle mein I will make sure to the Chairman and selectors. Otherwise, I am not captaining the side unless I get my players in the middle order.”
Akram tried to slam the Board and captain Babar Azam. But, it seemed like he insulted Shoaib Malik by comparing him with a donkey unintentionally. Even, Shoaib Malik looked quite surprised after hearing that from the former Pakistan great.
