On 14 December 2022, team India locked horns with the Bangla Tigers in Chattogram for the first Test match of the two-match series. Rohit Sharma got an injury on his thumb in the second ODI. Therefore, he missed the last ODI and this first Test match also. In his place, KL Rahul was the captain while Cheteshwar Pujara became the deputy.
Speaking of the match, KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. For the Men in Blue, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul came out to open. But, they were in trouble when India lost all top three batters for just 48 runs. Then, Shreyas Iyer came and batted beautifully throughout the day. Shreyas Iyer scored 82* runs at the end of day one against Bangladesh in the first Test
Speaking of the video, the incident took place in the 84th over. Shreyas Iyer was batting while Ebadot Hossain was bowling for the Bangla Tigers. In the fifth delivery of that over, Hossain managed to break the defense of Iyer as the ball hit the stumps. The bails also lit up but they did not get dislodged. So, Iyer survived despite being bowled by the bowler.
Seeing that, all Bangladesh players along with Ebadot were in shock as they could not believe Shreyas Iyer’s luck. Speaking of the match, India scored 278 runs for six wickets in 90 overs of Day one in this first Test match.
After losing the first three wickets for just 48 runs, Rishabh Pant scored 46 runs off 45 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Then, Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara put up a solid partnership of 149 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara got out after scoring 90 runs off 203 balls, including 11 fours. But, Iyer finished the day after scoring 82* runs off 169 balls, including 10 fours. For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam took three wickets for 84 runs in 30 overs.
