On 20 November 2022, team India locked horns with the Kiwis in Mount Maunganui in the second match of the ongoing three-match T20I series. On 18 November, the first game of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain. Speaking of the match, Kane Williamson won the toss and asked team India to bat first.

Sanju Samson failed to bag a place in the playing XI. Shreyas Iyer managed a place in the final playing XI. But, he failed to score big against the Kiwis. Now, a video has gone viral where Iyer got involved in an unfortunate dismissal against New Zealand.

Shreyas Iyer scored 13 runs off nine balls against the Kiwis

Speaking of the video, the indecent took place during the 13th over. Lockie Ferguson was bowling for New Zealand. For India, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav were batting. On the fourth delivery of that over, Iyer tried to nudge a short ball to the leg side. But, his foot touched the wickets as Shreyas Iyer got out for a hit-wicket.

Shreyas Iyer scored 13 runs off nine balls, including one six and one four. It was not a good comeback into the team for the batter. Speaking of the match, India batted first and scored 191 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant failed again as he scored six runs off 13 balls, including one four. Ishan Kishan scored 36 runs off 31 balls, including five fours and one six.

But, Suryakumar Yadav showed his class with the bat as he smashed his second T20I ton. He smashed a hundred off 49 balls. In the end, Suryakumar Yadav remained not out on 111 runs off 51 balls. He smashed 11 fours and seven sixes throughout his innings. He batted at a strike rate of 217.64. For the Kiwis, Lockie Ferguson took two wickets for 49 runs in his four overs. Tim Southee managed a hat-trick in the last over of the innings. He took three wickets for 34 runs in his four overs.
