However, before donning the jersey of the Gujarat franchise, Shubman Gill represented the Kolkata franchise in the Indian T20 League. Ahead of that last season, he joined Gujarat and Kolkata fans were not happy with the team. They showed love and expressed good luck to the young batter. But, now, a video went viral where Shubman Gill was seen wanting to delete a thing from his phone related to the Kolkata franchise.

Speaking of the video, Exhibit Magazine shared it on their official YouTube channel in a program named “What's on my Phone with Shubman Gill.” In that show, the Indian batter was asked about an app he would want to delete from his phone. In reply to that, Gill said: “I have this app from Kolkata. Probably that's because I don’t play for them now.”
However, Kolkata fans had not found it well as they have always shown a lot of support to Gill despite leaving the franchise. Speaking of his career for Kolkata, Gill scored 1417 runs in 58 matches for them. In the last edition of the Indian T20 League, Shubman Gill was instrumental in the trophy-winning campaign of Gujarat.
Gill smashed 483 runs in 16 matches, at an average of 34.50. He also managed four fifty-plus scores throughout the tournament. Then, Shubman Gill won the player of the series award in both the ODI series in West Indies and Zimbabwe respectively. He impressed everyone as Gill smashed the most number of runs in both series for India.
