Simon Doull, the former New Zealand cricketer, has, once again, made headlines for his commentary. Doull's remarks on Hasan Ali's wife have ignited social media after, earlier, making remarks on Babar Azam during a Pakistan Super League 2023 match.
He gained attention for his remarks on Hasan Ali's wife during the most recent PSL 2023 match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United on March 7 at the Pindi Club Stadium in Rawalpindi.

After the team won the game and the cameras captured the dugout celebrating, Doull was providing analysis at the time. When Samiyaa Arzoo, Ali's wife, came into focus on screen, Doull was heard exclaiming, "She has won it. I think she has also won a few hearts. That is excellent, just great." Now that the video has gone viral on social media, Simon Doull is under a lot of scrutiny.
Although a fellow commenter could be heard chuckling at his comment in the background, Twitter users weren't amused and vented their annoyance at it, online. They made their presence known on social media and criticized the New Zealand commentator for his comments.
Notably, this is not the first time that Simon Doull has faced criticism for his comments while commentating. The 53-year-old, previously, stole the show with his remarks against Babar Azam. When Babar Azam was close to reaching a century, he had questioned why the run scoring had slowed down.
After Babar Azam completed his fabulous hundred, Simon said on commentary,
"Rather than putting the team first... the last little while, that's all that has been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first."
During the encounter between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, the Shadab Khan-led squad won by 2 wickets after surpassing the 206-run target on the match's last delivery.
