Watch: Spectator suffers injury on his back while trying to take an unbelievable catch in Big Bash League

The ongoing Big Bash League has seen players hitting some gigantic sixes and taking outstanding catches. Apart from that, the spectators have also tried to take catches at the stands. But, while doing that, the fans have also suffered injuries.

One such incident took place during the game between Sydney Thunders and Brisbane Heat on Thursday. Olivier Davies smashed a long hit that went over deep midwicket boundary for a huge six. One of the fans in the stands tried hard to catch the ball.

He threw himself fully while trying to take the catch. The fan stretched himself fully but couldn’t get hold of it, eventually. The ball bounced off his palms and his back hit the chair. Fortunately, he wasn’t hurt badly and all of them were seen sharing a laugh.

Talking about the game, the Sydney Thunders notched a mammoth score of 182 runs in the first innings, thanks to a combined batting effort from the team. The likes of Mathews Gikes (37 off 35), Rossouw (39 off 35), Ross (25 off 12), and Daniel Sams (36 off 15) made valuable contributions with the bat.

For the Brisbane Heat, Bazley starred with the ball, picking four wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. In reply, Brisbane Heat fell just 11 runs short of the target. Apart from Colin Munro and James Bazley, all the other batters in the playing XI got out on single digit scores.

But Colin Munro was, singlehandedly, taking the game away from Sydney. He played a sensational knock of 98 runs in 53 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes. James Bazley provided a handy contribution of 29 off 24 balls. Munro kept the hopes alive till the final over of the innings but couldn’t finish the game in the end.
