On 26 December 2022, Australia took on South Africa in Melbourne for the second game of the ongoing three-match Test series. After winning the first game convincingly, the Aussies were looking to win this clash also to seal the series. Speaking of the match, Australia won the toss and asked the Proteas to bat first.

However, all batters of the visitors failed miserably again in this match as South Africa got bundled out for 189 runs. On day two, Australia’s batters were batting in order to gain a lead over the Proteas. But, South Africa’s Anrich Nortje got involved in a funny incident with the spider cam on the field. That video has now gone viral as fans found it very funny on social media platforms.

Anrich Nortje did not get injured due to that freaking incident

Speaking of the video, the incident took place after the 47th over of Australia’s innings. Both David Warner and Steve Smith were batting for the home side. However, in between the next over, Anrich Nortje was seen getting hit by the spider camera on the field. It hit him with some pace and he fell down. But, fortunately, he did not sustain any serious injury.

Speaking of the match, South Africa scored just 189 runs in their first innings. For them, Kyle Verreynne scored 52 runs off 99 balls, including three fours. Along with him, Marco Jansen scored 59 runs off 136 balls, including 10 fours. For the Aussies, Cameron Green took five wickets for 27 runs in 10.4 overs. Along with him, Mitchell Starc took two wickets while Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon took one wicket each.

In reply, David Warner and Usman Khawaja came out to open the innings for the home side. Khawaja got out early after scoring one run off 11 balls. But, David Warner got retired hurt after scoring 200* runs off 254 balls in his 100th Test Match. Steve Smith also scored 85 runs off 161 balls, including nine fours and one six. For the Proteas, Anrich Nortje has bowled 14 overs so far where he conceded 47 runs and took the wicket of Smith.
