Suryakumar Yadav is currently the number one batter in T20Is
Speaking of the video, the incident took place after the completion of 12 overs of Bangladesh’s innings. They were at 101 runs for four wickets as the revised target was 151 runs in 16 overs. Then, the camera turned toward Suryakumar Yadav. Fans were chanting his name. But, hearing this, the batter was seen pointing to ‘India’ which was written on his jersey.
It seemed that Suryakumar Yadav wanted fans to chant the country’s name instead of his. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma did not win the toss and Bangladesh asked India to bat first. Virat Kohli scored 64* runs off 44 balls, at a strike rate of 145.45. India scored 184 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the match got reduced to 16 overs due to rain. In the first seven overs, Bangladesh scored 66 runs in seven overs. But, they failed to score the revised target as Bangladesh managed only 145 runs for six wickets.
However, before that clash, Suryakumar Yadav became the number-one batter in T20Is. In the recently updated rankings by the Governing Body of Cricket, Yadav became the number one batter in T20Is. He dethroned Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan as he slipped into the second spot. Currently, Surya has 863 points while Rizwan has 842 points. Even, against Bangladesh, he looked in great touch during his 30-run innings off 16 runs.
