Star Kabaddi player Pawan Sehrawat was bought by Tamil Thalaivas on day 1 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 Player Auctions held in Mumbai on Friday. Previously, he was part of the Bengaluru Bulls. He is fondly remembered by the Bulls’ fans for winning the 2018 final single-handedly against Gujarat Fortunegiants. The raider played one of the most instrumental roles in the Red Army’s success. However, now he will don the Blue kit of Thalaivas from the upcoming season.

After the star player was bought, the official broadcaster of the Pro Kabaddi League uploaded a video on Twitter. The host of the show asked Randhir, the head coach of the 2018 winners, about Pawan.

The coach said that they will miss him in the team and wished him luck for the future. The video was captioned, ‘An emotional conversation between @pawan_kumar17 & @BengaluruBulls coach that had us going! Knew Pawan would fetch 220-230 lakh: Randhir Singh Sehrawat

The head coach of the Bangalore-based added that he knew that his student (Pawan) would easily fetch 2.2 to 2.3 crores. Randhir also revealed that when Vikas Kandola’s name came in the auction, they decided to go for him. He added that if they tried to hold the money, the team would lose out on both players.

“I knew Pawan would go for 220-230 lakh. As Vikash Khandola’s name came out first, I thought I should go for him. If I tried to hold the money, we would have probably missed out on both Vikash and Pawan. Vikash Khandola once told me that he wants to play under me. So, now he has got the chance.”

Talking about the tournament, the dates of season nine are yet to be announced.
