New Zealand are currently playing against England in the first match of the English summer. Batting first, New Zealand kept losing wickets at regular intervals, bringing Trent Boult in the middle of the first day. While the tailender could not last long either, his antics on the field reminded everyone of Australia's star batter Steve Smith.

Boult defended a ball on the back foot and shouted "No Run" just like Steve Smith. The Australian batter is known for his unorthodox batting style. He is always very fidgety while batting and shouts "no run" to make it clear when he does not want to take a run. This strategy works for him and delivers him good results most of the time.

In the meantime, Steve Smith celebrated his birthday on the 2nd of June. The star batter turned 33 years on Thursday. On the occasion of his birthday, cricket.com.au posted a video of Smith playing his unusual style of cricket. "Never change, Steve Smith!" said the caption of the post.

As for the match between England and New Zealand, the first day was a busy day at the office for the fast bowlers. The Black Caps did not have the best start as they lost both their openers within the first five overs for a score of just two runs. Post that, it was not stable on them either. They lost half of their side within the first session. In the end, they managed 132 runs in the first innings, owing to some good batting by Colin de Grandhomme. He scored 42 runs in 50 balls.

England got off to a solid start in the second innings, with Alex Lees and Zak Crawley scoring 59 runs in the opening partnership. However, it all went downhill for them after that. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, and were seven wickets down for a score of 100. They ended the day with a score of 116/6.
