On 7 December 2022, team India took on Bangladesh in the second match of the ongoing three-match ODI series in Mirpur. In the first match, Bangladesh defeated India by one wicket to take a 1-0 lead in the series. So, the Men in Blue were looking for a comeback in this clash. However, Kuldeep Sen missed this clash due to a stiff back.

Hence, India considered Umran Malik to replace him in the playing XI. Speaking of the match, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first. During that innings, Umran Malik took the wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto and the video has gone now viral.

Here is the shared video:

Speaking of the video, the incident took place in the 14th over of that inning. Najmul Hossain Shanto was batting while Umran Malik came to bowl that over. On the first delivery of that over, Umran bowled a full delivery angling in towards the off stump from round the wicket. Then, the ball beat the outside edge and sent the off-stumps flying.

The ball was at 151 kmph as the batter had no clue how to play that. Thus, Shanto lost his wicket after scoring 21 runs off 35 balls, including three fours. Umran Malik made his ODI debut in New Zealand on 30 November 2022. Speaking of the match, Bangladesh were in a spot of bother after electing to bat first. At the end of 24 overs, Bangladesh managed only 93 runs for six wickets. Umran Malik took one wicket for eight runs in five overs.

He also bowled two maiden overs among those first five overs. Speaking about Umran Malik, former Aussie cricketer, Brett Lee was not happy when India did not take him to the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup. He said: "Umran Malik is bowling at 150 km per hour. I mean when you have the best car in the world, and you leave it in the garage, then what's the point of having that car? Umran Malik should have been picked in the Indian squad for the World Cup. Yes, he is young, and yes, he is raw, but he bowls at 150 kmph, so get him in the team, get him to Australia where the ball flies through. It's different when you have a guy bowling at 140 kmph and a guy who is bowling at 150 kmph."
