The opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill survived going without giving their wicket on the second day of the Ahmedabad Test. They added 36 runs for the first wicket in the 10 overs of the Indian innings. Earlier, the hosts managed to restrict Australia to a score of 480 runs in the third session of the second day.

Apart from that, the former Indian skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli made it to the headlines of social media after the end of the second day; the 34-year-old was spotted practicing with the bat in the aftermath of the second day’s play.

The video of this special moment later started making rounds on social media and went viral within minutes of being shared by a Twitter user.

Speaking of the current action of the match, India has currently scored 129 runs for the loss of one wicket in 37 overs in their first innings; having Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara there in the middle with the individual scores of 65 and 22 runs respectively. Skipper Rohit Sharma contributed with the individual knock of 35 runs off 58  balls with three boundaries and a six to his name.

Earlier on the second day, Australia posted a total of 480 runs for the loss of all wickets in 167.2 overs. The star Australian southpaw Usman Khawaja played a historic and outstanding knock of 180 runs off 422 balls with 21 boundaries to his name.

Other than him, the young batting star Cameron Green also played a brilliant knock of 114 runs off 170 balls with 18 boundaries.

For India, senior all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin scalped six wickets by conceding 91 runs in 47.2 overs to help India bundle Australia on the score of 480 runs in the first innings.

Currently, India are currently leading the series by a lead of 2-1 after losing the Indore Test against Australia by a big margin of nine wickets.
