Team India kicked off their preparation for the 2023 World Cup on 10 January 2023. The first game of the three-match ODI series took palace in Guwahati. After taking a rest in the T20I series, senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made a comeback in the series. Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and asked India to bat first.

Both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a fantastic start to the team while Virat Kohli scored his 45th ODI ton. Finally, they scored 373 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. But, a video has now gone viral where Virat Kohli was seen giving a death stare to his teammate, Hardik Pandya for refusing a run.

Virat Kohli scored his 73rd International century in the first ODI

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 43rd over of team India’s innings. On the third delivery of that over, Virat Kohli nudged the ball to the leg side. Then, he was looking for two runs but Hardik Pandya refused him for the second run. Even, commentators were saying it was a comfortable two runs for the Men in Blue. However, Kohli was not so happy at that refusal as he was seen giving a death stare to the all-rounder.

Speaking of team India, they batted brilliantly and posted a high score of 373 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 83 runs off 67 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Shubman Gill scored 70 runs off 60 balls, including 11 fours. Then, Virat Kohli showed his class at number three.

He scored 113 runs off 87 balls, including 12 fours and one six. He batted at a strike rate of 129.88. It was his consecutive hundred in the 50-over format. However, it was his 73rd International hundred across all three formats for his country. Hardik Pandya managed only 14 runs off 12 balls, including one six. For Sri Lanka, Kasun Rajitha took three wickets for 88 runs in 10 overs.
