India's preparations for the rescheduled Test match against England have begun with their practice game against Leicestershire. While India did not have the best first day in the game, they did have some positives. Virat Kohli showing a glimpse of his confident batting was one of them. He could not score more than 33 runs in the first innings but looked in good touch in his short stay.
Apart from his confident strokeplay, another incident involving Virat Kohli also went viral on social media. The 33-year-old was spotted attempting to balance the bat straight without any support. It reminded everyone of something ex-England captain Joe Root did during a recent Test match against New Zealand.

As for the match, India did not have the best outing on the first day of the game. The team captained by Rohit Sharma lost eight wickets for a score of 246 runs in the match. The biggest positive for the team was Srikar Bharat. The wicketkeeper-batter remained at the crease for a score of 70 runs in 111 balls.
On the other hand, Root is currently playing the Test series against New Zealand. He played a vital role in his team's win in the first two matches. He recently became the newest member of the elite 10,000-run club in Test cricket.
The rescheduled fifth Test match between India and England will begin on the 1st of July at Birmingham's Edgbaston. Notably, this is the postponed Test match from India's tour of England last year. A covid outbreak in the visitor's camp had resulted in the delaying of the final match. The Indian team leads the five-match series 2-1.
They will look forward to winning this match and claiming the series. If they succeed, they will be the first Indian touring side to win a Test series in England. Following the Test, there will be three T20Is and three ODIs.
