In the meantime, India has already taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The team led by Rohit Sharma will try to win the second game and seal the series in Guwahati. This series serves as a warm-up for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. The Men in Blue will look forward to doing well in the remaining games to have good momentum in the mega event.
Pacer Mohammad Siraj has been added to the squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah for the remaining two games. The star pacer complained of a back problem during the first game and was ruled out for the rest of the series.
As for the first game, India was at the top with their bowling. Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar took early breakthroughs to put South Africa in trouble. The Proteas could not come back in the game and were limited to a score of 106.
In the chase, India played cautiously on a difficult batting surface. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored unbeaten half-centuries to take India home.
