On 15 January 2023, team India completed the clean sweep over the Lankans in the home ODI series. They defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 and Virat Kohli won the player of the match award for his match-winning knock. He scored 166* runs off 110 balls. Kohli also won the player of the series award for scoring 283 runs in three matches.
During that fantastic innings, Virat Kohli hit 13 fours and eight sixes. Fans were amused to see the former Indian skipper hitting so many sixes with ease. However, in that match, he hit a six with a help of a helicopter whip. Then, he was seen taking MS Dhoni’s name and that video has now gone viral.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 44th over of that innings. Kasun Rajitha was bowling that over while Kohli was batting. On the fourth delivery of that ver, Rajitha bowled a slower outside of the off-stump. The former Indian skipper charged down the track and whipped it over the long-n region.
Fans were over the moon after watching that outrageous shot. Then, Virat Kohli was seen also saying ‘Mahi Shot’ to Shreyas Iyer who was at the non-striker end. Fans know how strong a bond both these players have shared ll over these years. Speaking of the match, India batted first after winning the toss. They scored 390 runs for five wickets in 50 overs. Shubman Gill scored 116 runs off 97 balls, including 14 fours and two sixes. Virat Kohli scored 166* runs off 110 balls, including 13 fours and eight sixes.
In reply, Indian bowlers bamboozled Sri Lanka batters as they got bundled out for just 73 runs in 22 overs. Thus, India created history to win by a margin of 317 runs. It was the biggest margin ever to win a match in the history of the 50-over format. Virat Kohli had a fantastic series with the bat as he scored two centuries.
