It has been proven time and again that Sports transcends boundaries and unite people from all over the world. Recently, a video of Indian and Pakistan cricket fans dancing outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground to a Pakistani song went viral all over the internet.

The cricket fever has also made a man from China a huge fan of Virat Kohli and the Indian culture. Ahead of India’s match against Bangladesh in the 20-20 World Cup, a Chinese cricket fan was spotted outside the Adelaide Oval with India’s tri-colour imprinted on his cheeks.

When approached and asked by a journalist, the man revealed that he is a big fan of the Indian Cricket Team and is here to watch Virat Kohli. He also expressed his love for Indian culture and tradition by saying, “mujhe bharatiya sanskriti bahut pasand hai”.

“Mai Indian team ka bahot bada bhakt hu (I am a big follower of the Indian cricket team)…..I love Indian culture,” told the Chinese man to Indian Express on camera. The guy also revealed that he learned Hindi on his own. Indian Express also reported that the fan is a language student at Adelaide University.

This is not the first time a non-Indian cricket fan has come to cheer for the 'Men-in-Blue'. A few days back, a Nepalese fan was seen cheering for the Indian team against the Netherlands. He claimed to be a fan of the Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

Coming to the match, team India registered a five-run victory over Bangladesh on Wednesday. Bangladesh captain Shakib-al-Hasan won the toss and elected to field first. India scored 184/6 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

In reply to India’s total, Bangladesh got off to a flier as Litton Das smashed the Indian bowlers all around the park. Bangladesh were cruising after 7 overs as they were 66/0, thanks to a 21-ball half century from Litton Das. The rain came pouring down and Bangladesh were 17 runs ahead of the DLS par score.

However, the rain gods answered the prayers of Indian fans and the match was, later, shortened to 16 overs and Bangladesh were given a target of 151 to chase. India made a strong comeback into the match and ended up winning the game by 5 runs. Virat Kohli was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his innings of 64 off 44 balls.
